Now I can’t say that Microsoft didn’t copy some of Mac OSX, I have no clue maybe they did, but my point was just because some of things are similar doesn’t necessarily mean its been copied, its just means Microsoft is following good UI design, and its no secret Apple has done an awesome job with UI design.. Also just so you guys know I own a iMac myself.. so I’m not a Apple hater or anything

I don’t think MS copied Apple. Speaking as web designer, I design websites, its kind of similar to UI design in OS’. Because a both should be easy to navigate. When you look at sites, you’ll notice that the most of them have a navigation at the top ex.youtube, gamespot, cnet. Why you may ask? well because its good design practice, having a navigation at the bottom is confusing and useless, you have to scroll to the bottom to click a link, similarly MS is following a easy to navigate interface..

@Molo9000 wow.. sounds good to know that u own 2 mac and 1 pc.. but for myself i dont have three computers just 1.. and am using it for my work , games and studies.. and its pretty old too.. and i made few upgrades.. P4 3.0Ghz.. 1Gb(512Mb when i bought it and later i upgraded by addin another 512) 80Gb Hdd(now an additional 250 Gb) ATI HD 4650(Nvidia 6200 when i bought).. 22″LG full hd screen… and i run win 7 without any problem…
now am plannin to buy dell studio or studio xps…;)

if the mac os is so good then maybe Steve should get a guy who we can understand to persuade us to go to OS x not some immigrant from france who barely knows english.

@rodsling cod sucks in the first place. my laptop with an intel gma ran cod 4 fine. mac minis were not made with gaming in mind. nor were any other macs.

@jaykayvenom mac can play COD too, even the latest versions. the new mac minis were made with gamers on mind.

more software doesn’t automatically make the OS a better choice.
You don’t need 20programs to do a certain task. All you need is one good one.
It all depends on what you want to do with your computer.

I’m a PC gamer and I’ve got 2 Macs and 1 Windows PC. Windows desktop for gaming, MacBook for work, Mac Mini as home theatre PC.

@hatfinch apple still work with adobe, just not with flash on their mobile devices. apple need something reliable, consistent and bug-proof. they’ve never seen that from adobe.

mac os x leopard and snow leopard are nowhere near as good as the old aqua and stuff like that..

It seems like Apple doesn’t even care about it’s computers anymore. And the sales show it. Apple sold more iPads than Macs this quarter. It’s all about iOS now. The funny thing is, that iOS is based on Mac OS X anyway.

@jedixo They added spotlight and the dock, like you said, and they have more modern looking fonts instead of the older looking OS 9 fonts, and it just looks overall newer. I guess it hasn’t changed all that much.

@MBP6705 sorry can i ask how macs GUI has changed… the older version of mac os i have used was i think 7 or 8 not too sure… its still the same just with a dock

@daguv510 So true. If you look past their pretty, modern looking GUI, it is basically the same thing as Windows 3.1. More power to the developers at Apple!

MS has taken the lazy way to do things for years. Apple rebuilt the OS from the ground up. MS has become such a dinosaur over the last several years, MS does not really give a rats ass what people think about what they do as long as suckers spend money on their products. Vista was a joke, the worst operating system I have ever used in my life! People that say Vista was good have never used a really good operating system. OS X is based on UINX, how hard is this to understand!?
